Two and one-half years in the making. The Lambs Chapel has opened their new campus in Burlington, North Carolina. The church’s campus is the second for the non-denominational Evangelical Christian church, with the original campus 10 miles away in Haw River. With the county population continuing to grow, the church decided to build the new campus and will continue to operate both facilities.

The Burlington campus spans 36 acres and includes a family life centre, recreation facilities and an educational complex with children and student ministries, along with toddler and infant centres.

The main sanctuary is 90,000 square feet with seating for over 2,000 on the main floor and large balcony. During the two years of design and preparation, Lambs Chapel relied on Kernersville, North Carolina-based AVL Environments for consultation and implementation of their audio and visual needs.

When Kevin Krak designs a facility for a client, his goal is to present the “wow” factor. Krak is CEO of Gallant Building Solutions. The company designs properties for company headquarters, corporate offices and commercial spaces for many Fortune 100 companies. Their goal is to provide an enhanced, efficient and stimulating workplace environment.

That’s exactly what he’s done with the new club Rochaus in West Dundee, Illinois.

“Live music is my hobby, my passion,” says Krak. “I love concerts and love the performers’ relationship with the crowd, it’s all an experience.”

With that, Krak was driving through the small Chicago western suburb and saw a for sale sign on a building that recently housed a rock club.

The famous U2 tribute band Achtung Babies (Italy) runs the 1st Tour in France on RCF sound system. The live show took place at Lestrem in France. The 500 people audience were gladly surprised by the precision of the sound system: the 4 pieces three way TTL6-A active line source in conjunction with 2 subs 9006AS turns every venue in an high fidelity room, with very low distortion and incredible power. The TT system was tuned using RDNet networked control. ART312A mk3 speakers were installed as frontfill. The sound engineer Francesco Venturi and the technical team of OK Sono ( Bethune) did the implant and tuning.

Based in the heart of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the Students Union at Northumbria University boasts excellent campus facilities.
Following a series of upgrades in the past 12 months all the principal Student Union (NSU) spaces have been equipped with premium RCF sound systems. This applies to Reds Bar, with its leather upholstered booth seating and full 300-capacity performance stage, which can accommodate up to 900 students; Domain, its biggest, multipurpose venue, which has already hosted some of NSU’s bigger gigs, including Ed Sheeran, Ella Eyre, Anthrax, London Grammar and Soul II Soul; Habita, its award-winning stylish and relaxed cocktail bar; and finally Stage 2, a purpose built theatre performance space, which is used for student assessments and shows.
Nestled in the picturesque Ouseburn valley, overlooking a farm, The Cluny is one of the most uniquely enduring live music bars in Newcastle-upon-Tyne if not the entire UK. Today the City’s cultural oasis, Ouseburn is situated at the confluence of the Rivers Tyne and Ouse. But The Cluny is considered the godfather of this bohemian, artesinal village. Having been built in 1848, when it was opened as a flax spinning mill, this magnificent Grade II-listed building has subsequently traded as a whisky bottling and paint factory.

In its most recent incarnation the owners at the time Camerons Brewery commissioned a new RCF sound system at the beginning of this year, prior to selling the venue to the independent consortium, Mi Viejo Fruta, led by former venue manager, Julian Ive. It is presently celebrating its 15th anniversary as a live venue, since first being operated by the company, Head of Steam, prior to selling to Camerons. Down in the 300-capacity, cavernous main warehouse, Nashville band The Magic Wands, playing a type of music described as ‘lovewave’, are sound-checking through a newly-installed RCF active HDL20-A line array system, the most successful in RCF’s D-Line composite series. Four elements a side, supported by four single 18in SUB 8004-AS, powered by a 1250W digital amplifier module, have replaced the old system, while the band listen to their reference stage sound through six new RCF TT25-CXA. It is the first night of their UK tour.
On the upper balcony coverage is provided by a pair of RCF NXL44-A column line source and a further SUB 8004, while another pair of NXL44-A’s reside downstairs in the 180-capacity Cluny 2 (which was originally a children’s theatre).

Presentation of HDL6, HDL20, HDL30 and HDL50 line array systems with Oscar Mora from RCF. Seats are limited!
Best known recently for his worldwide hit Despacito, Puerto Rican singer / songwriter Luis Fonsi started his Love + Dance World Tour on July 1st — which will end in December after 80 shows and will continue in 2018.

Despacito is the first mostly Spanish-language chart-topper in more than 20 years, following La Bamba and Macarena. His FOH sound engineer is Puerto Rican Latin Grammy Winner Yamil Martínez, with many major studio recording and live engineering credits to his name, including: Alex Campos, Ana Gabriel, Ricky Martin, and Tommy Torres to name just a few.

His band features four musicians, background vocals, guest singers, while further inputs are provided by the voice and acoustic guitar of the Artist himself — all running through 56 channels of a DiGiCo SD10, upgraded with Waves SoundGrid and UAD plugins as well as a Korg Kaoss Pad for additional live FX. Each musician uses IEM monitoring, but the stage is not entirely silent: subs are available for the musicians’ reference sound and side-fills for dancers. Monitor mixes are handled by Zoilo Rodriguez.

If a good sound comes with a brand, then it's undoubtedly Harley-Davidson. Whether it be H-D biker gatherings, where the loud rock'n'roll gig is indispensable, or a Harley-Davidson retailer shop, with its distinctive interior design for soft-country or rock music... it doesn’t matter with RCF!

The requests

In mid-September 2017, Harley-Davidson moved to a new and significantly larger commercial area. Over 250 m2, divided into several separate units: sales area, coffee bar with seating corner, service area and offices, dressing rooms and toilets. As each of these areas performs different types of day-to-day activities, it was necessary to devise a multi-zone system managed by different people, each of them in its individual space in which they work every day.

The installed RCF audio system consists of:
RCF Monitor 55 wall mount loudspeakers
RCF passive subwoofer S4012
RCF PL 8X ceiling speakers for toilets and wardrobe
RCF 4-channel amplifiers DPS 604X
Xilica processors U0808
Radial JPC stereo PC DI boxes
JBL Control One speakers

All employees have been installed applications on their mobile phones and business computers through which they can control the volume of the sound or to completely mute it in precisely defined areas. At the same time, managers have access to volume settings in the entire space. The installed system and the achieved quality of sound additionally emphasised the general comfort of staying at the Harley-Davidson store, while the interior hadn’t been affected in any way.
