A versatile system for a multi purpose venue.
The Maintalhalle is situated in the city of Mainaschaff, is a multi purpose venue with a fixed stage used for presentations, theatre shows and live music.
Tony Glaab, Technical Director of Maintahalle, contacted Stage Light Sound and asked them to provide with a high performance audio system that could handle all the different kinds of performances scheduled in the venue. Stage Light Sound specified RCF’s TT+ High Definition Touring and Theatre for the complete sound reinforcement system and worked in close contact with Georg Hofmann and Norbert Wessel of RCF Germany during the design and the set up phase of the project.
The complete system, provided for Maintalhalle comprised TTL31-A compact line array and TTS28-A high power subwoofers as the main P.A., TT08-A as front fill, TT25-A placed as side fill and TT25-SMA for stage monitoring purpose.
Georg Hofmann designed the system using EASE software to provide a powerful and uniform coverage of the venue that measures 40 m depth, 7 to 9 m high and 20 to 24 m wide. “Because the hall can be divided in the middle, we had to provide a system that could be controlled in two separate sections”, explains Hofmann, “ in fact, if the hall is divided, only the 4 lower TTL31-A are used”. Norbert Wessel, achieved the start up process by using EASE Focus design software.
Tony Glaab commented: “Before we got the RCF TT+ system, all guest performances in our multi-purpose hall had to use external equipment, now we are able to offer them a fully equipped hall with a really high performance system. When we heard the TT+ system fully set up, we were really impressed by the clarity and powerful sound reproduction, even in the rearmost places of the venue”.
Alexander Poeter, Senior Chief of Stage Light Sound, said: “The support from the German RCF crew was just amazing. From the system design to the final installation we had a fantastic assistance from them.”

The video-photographic exhibition musical experimentation “Il Gesto del Suono” (The Gesture of Sound) will be hosted at Spazio Gerra in Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy from 17th of October to the 29th of November. Conceived and organized by Claudio Chianura, this touring exhibition was created in 2008 and from its inception RCF have provided the for the show’s sound.
Art Series loudspeakers from the Company, in fact, are being used to amplify the sound in the various sections of the exhibition, which involves people on three different levels: picture portraits by some of the best Italian music photographers, music, and videos chosen by the musicians.
In 2009 “Il Gesto del Suono” will have three new elements, 2.0,is dedicated to vocal experimentation, 3.0, to the instrumental and the 4.0 to the electronic music experimentation, in order to offer visitors a wider experience.
Version 2.0, on show in Reggio Emilia, is a step foreword into the size of the contemporary experimental scene and this year’s show is dedicated, to the 30th anniversary of the death, to Demetrio Stratos, one of the most greatest protagonists of vocal experimentation in modern music history.

Rental Company Airone S.r.l. chose RCF TT+ Series as the main PA system. TTL33-A Line Arrays coupled with TTS28-A Subwoofers were used for the sound reinforcement while TT25-SMA stage monitors were deployed on stage.
“The thing that impressed us the most was the incredible sound definition and the versatility of the system. In fact every night we had to amplify a very different kind of music and the system worked out just perfectly”. Commented Valeria Barbini, Airone FOH Engineer. “ TT+ has all the characteristics that a system needs to handle every situation and we were able to obtain a true linear dispersion up to 60 metres from the stage, which was our objective. Therefore we did not have any feedback problem on stage.”

MQ 100L (available in black and white) is a 3 way column loudspeaker providing natural hi-fidelity sound of both speech and music, suitable for sound system having fixed loudspeakers.
The wide horizontal coverage angle (180°) and the vertical dispersion (60°) allow the correct sound reproduction in a wide space, in order to limit feedback and improve the sound directivity which is important, for instance, in halls having a long reverberation time.
The mounting accessories are included. These have been engineered to keep the column as close as possible to the wall and simplify the installation. Its tilt angle can be chosen among 0° – 5° – 10°. The 60° vertical dispersion is asymmetric: it is the difference between 20° upwards and 40° downwards. The vertical dispersion axis is in fact already angled 10° downwards, making it unnecessary to tilt the sound column excessively.
MAIN APPLICATIONS • Foreground / Background Music • Distributed Speech Reinforcement • AV Production / Playback • Pubs and Restaurants • Shopping malls
CERTIFICATIONS AND APPROVALS • CE comply with European Community Directive 73/23/EEC and 93768/EEC • Self-Extinguishing plastic according to UL 94V0 • Speaker data according to IEC 268-5 • Safety according to IEC EN 60065:2002

The RCF’s distributor in Greece, Kariotis Audio & Lighting have recently undertaken a large sound installation at the prestigious Balux sea club in Athens.
Mr. Kariotis Pandelis explains “ The brief was quite specific regarding the design and installation of the venue. The philosophy is designed around the idea for an audio system that could cover the different parts of the complex, thus eliminating any possible sound pollution from the other areas bordering on the Balux Club in order to deliver a clean and defined sound. Using RCF ART speakers, Kariotis Meletios and Partners designed a “surround sound” system, in which a lot of the speaker sources are placed to cover the different parts of the club eliminating the interference from the other areas. To achieve this we used a combination of RCF ART 312’s and RCF C3110’s and S8018 subwoofers”.
The finished installation comprised a large number of ART 312 two way speakers installed outdoors, while for the interior of the club RCFACUSTICA C3110’s and S8018 subwoofers have been used.
